It's done! Took about 10 weeks, and I'm sure the onset of my inevitable carpel tunnel syndrome will come much sooner, but my Jim and Pam animated mood theme is done. 132 tiny moving pictures to help you express how you're feeling, what more could you ask for? How about a cheesy little banner with previews!

Instructions
This is a simplified version of the great instructions you can find here on
First
- Download the zipped file here (10.5mb). Here's a backup link just in case.
- Unzip and upload the gif files to your own server/domain. Do not change any of the file names!
Plus and Paid Accounts: You have two options, use the Custom Mood Theme Editor, or use the Admin Console. If all the links and numbers are right, the Admin Console is much, much quicker.
Using the Custom Mood Theme Editor:
- Go here, and under "Create New Theme" type in "Jim/Pam Animated" (or whatever you want to name it) and click create.
- For every emotion, manually enter (or copy and paste) the URL of it's appropriate gif in the box next to it. You must also enter the dimensions (width=85, height=50) in the field boxes underneath every URL.
- Make sure to click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

Using the Admin Console
- First, open (or just have easy access to) the "adminconsolecodes.txt" file in the unzipped folder with all the mood gifs on your computer.
- Now, back on LiveJournal, Go to your Admin Console
- Copy and paste this:
moodtheme_create "Jim Pam animated" "by ladama23"
and click "execute" - You'll go to a page where (in green) in will say "Success. Your new mood theme ID is (some 6-digit number)". Copy the ID number and keep this page open.
- Now, in the "adminconsolecodes.txt" file, find and replace (CTRL+H) "12345" with the mood id number.
- Also find and replace "http://www.hosting.com/" with whatever the URL of where you uploaded the mood theme is. If you're using PhotoBucket, the URL will probably be something like "http://img.photobucket.com/albums/a111/y
ourusername/jammood/". Make sure you're not including the last little "mood.gif" part and that you have the right number of forward-slashes, etc. - Now in the text file, Select All (CTRL+A) and copy. Go back to the "Success. Your new mood theme ID is (some 6-digit number)" page, paste the whole code in the admin console, and click "execute".
- You're done! Now go to your custom moodtheme page, find "Jim Pam Animated" and click "use".

This was quite the undertaking, so I feel the need to thank people:
- First, thanks to
mkesa for putting the idea of creating an animated mood theme in my head. My wrist doesn't like you too much right now, but I do. - Next, thanks to this animated icon tutorial by
lidi , couldn't do it without that. - Shout outs are in order for my NBC boards buddies who helped me think of themes, especially
office_holic and lady clothes for coming here to LJ and posting suggestions, and myalika for the extra bit of confident yesterday.
Miscellaneous:
- I made this theme in Photoshop and ImageReady.
- I had a wide variety of scene: all three season, inside, outside, night, day, and I really tried to make the colors consistent. I think I did okay, though some gifs are a little more washed out than other. Damn you, Office for filming so many scenes in front of beige walls!
- When my wrist recovers I'm hoping to do an animated theme with everyone, we'll see how that goes.
- feeling:
productive

If anyone could do that for me, I'd appreciate it forever!
